The audio player on the front page can be easily controlled. This
document will run through the basic steps of controlling audio playback.
Play/Pause
The audio player will automatically begin playing once the front page is loaded. Once it begins playing, you will see a pause button to the far left. Clicking this will pause the music.
When paused, the pause button will be replaced by the play button. To resume playing, simply click the play button.
Adjusting Volume
To adjust the volume, simply click and drag you mouse pointer over the bars directly to the right of the speaker on the far right. To increase the volume, drag your mouse pointer to the right and more bars will darken. To decrease the volume, drag your mouse pointer to the left and more bars will lighten. To mute the player, simply click on the speaker icon itself. To unmute, click the speaker again.
Disabling Autoplay
In many situations, it is not best to have audio play automatically. In these cases, it is best to disable the autoplay feature. To disable
the front page audio player's autoplay feature, you must be a
registered member. If you have not registered, you can do so by clicking here. Once you have registered, you can choose this option through your user profile. To do so, follow the steps below.
1. Click on the "Profile" link in the User Menu on the lower left-hand side of the page.
2. Once on the profile page, hover over the "Edit" button in the top center and select "Update Your Profile".
3. Once on the "Edit Your Details" page. Select the "Site Preferences" tab along the top.
4. On this tab, you should see a checkbox beside the "Disable audio content on front page" option. Ensure this option is checked and click "Update". This will prevent the audio playing from automatically playing when you visit the front page.
